My old HD display card ran perfectly ok in Windows 10 version But after the PC has been updated to Windows 10 version , the same display driver 8. Device Manager shows an exclamation mark at the display adaptor. I tried uninstall the display driver and had Windows Update installed the display driver again but it said failed to install. Upon examination, the driver is actually installed but failed to start. Device Managers shows again an exclamation mark at the display adaptor. If the current version the of display driver supports Windows 10 version , how to get the display driver work in my case?

Please enable Windows Update and allow it to detect and install the appropriate driver. Apparently the display driver version has been installed in my PC running Windows 10 version but it failed to run as shown in Device Manager. Tried install the last Win8 supported driver I have checked the bios and there isn't an option to disable the onboad graphics chip. Yet I think the onboard graphics chip has been disabled when there is an add-on graphics card. There is no other hidden video display adaptor in Device Manager, only one showing up, i.

LAst thing, uninstall all amd gpu driver, let win install its driver, then install the I'm having a similar problem with my recent Nov 23, update to the version of Windows The update removed the ATI Radeon HD driver that was previously installed and working great, replacing it with a generic Microsoft driver that makes circles into ovals and squares into rectangles - - hideous.
The update also removed my earlier "system restore" points making it more difficult to revert to the previous version of Windows 10 that was working properly. The AMD display adapter driver update website says the latest driver for the ATI Radeon 46xx series is supposed to be included in the Windows 10 updates. I hope Microsoft fixes this soon in another update.

I have two computers that have onboard video. On one if a physical card is installed on the pci or pcie slot, it turns off the onboard automaticly. On the other system, it has an option to use or shut off the onboard video or run it with an installed card, but the onboard has to be the first loaded in windows.
Both of these onboard video chipset have basic low quality capabilities that are very limited. These are not true sli or crossfire devices. WIndows 10 likes to use the lowest resource devices and lowest or easiest hardware to configure, especially if we are using 3rd party drivers like amd or nvidia.
Go to system, advanced system settings, hardware tab, device installation settings,select "no" Go to device manager, select "show hidden devices" , go to "video display adapters", check each one. Some may be grayed out with error code "can not start device or "not connected".
Right click empty spot on the desktop, display settings, how many number displays are listed? Select advanced display settings, display adapter properties. How much physical ram is in the system?
For every 1 gig on a video card-chip win10 wants 4 gig of ram to be used for the gpu, so 2 devices could equal, 8 gig of ram. Can you post the model of the pc or motherboard? Are you running win10 home or pro version? Besides these last things there's not much else available. I think microsoft will make more hardware devices obsolete on every major update.
